FOX XE at Cabela's

I haven't been in this Forum very long so consequently I haven't seen too many Fox guns live and in my hands. I was at Cabela's today in Kansas City and saw an XE 20 gauge that was real nice. It is worth your time to go to the Cabela site. click on the library then search on Fox and you will see the pictures. Only $15,995!! Enjoy anyway.

Was the wood to metal fit as bad as the photos shows? There is a large gap and over lap shown in the photo of the bottom of the receiver. The gun was shown as sold and off the site for a week or so.

My knowledge is limited to pictures I have seen on this forum and my own gun, but if that stock is typical of a newer model Fox, you can have them.

A trick of the camera and picture reproduction, I assume. I doubt that the rib matting is done at a 20 degree angle as the picture suggests. It's probably a pretty nice gun but won't sell if the pictures aren't improved.

All I was saying was in all the nice guns I have been around in the years, this is the first nice Fox I have seen and my reason is that I haven't been looking for Fox guns. The gun was setting in a Fox hard case so I didn't take it out an examine it. At a price like that you would have to do an equivalent to an MRI before you started negotiating.
This is another subject but I can't see me ever buying a gun there unless they are waiting for a rediculous offer. In my opinion, these people are ruining the gun market by convincing the public that guns are worth their price. But guess what, it is the no. 1 tourist attraction in Kansas and a lot of people have more money than brains or the just want to brag that they bought a gun there. Enough said and I look forward to viewing high grade Foxes because the are works of art.

Probably is just bad pictures. I wonder where Cabellas gets all these guns? It would be fun to see them all.

Well, retirement homes regularly plan bus trips for their residents. Maybe the Fox Collectors could set up trips to various Cabela's, Connecticut Shotgun, Winter Vegas, Opening day of South Dakota pheasant season, The Southern Side by Side, The Vintagers, The Upper Peninsula Side by Side Shoot, maybe the bus could just do a continuous circuit and we could get on at any stop.

Does anyone have the data for how many XE 20 guages were produced??

The only XE Fox 20 I could find on Cabela's site is a CSMC Fox and not an original Philly or Utica Fox. It's pretty though!

In another post, I was told about an article in the spring 2002 DGJ. I ordered a copy. The article says about 120 of the XE's were 20ga.
