Correction to this submission on this forum: These aren't pictures of my Fox, they are some pictures of Teddy Roosevelt's F grade Fox at the Firearms Museum in Cody Wyoming.

This is Wednesday afternoon September 10th . . .

Couples pictures of TR's gun thru the glass case . . .

This is next day, Thursday morning September 11th . . .

There are better pictures of the gun on the internet but nice to see TR's guns and all the other very interesting things at the museum. Well worth the trip.

Thanks for the reminder. I am by there a lot and have never seen that gun display. I wonder if I could try few sage grouse with that sweetheart.

Noticed that forend wood where it joins metal at rear is oversize. Wonder why? Looks like splinter. Bobby

What you are seeing is the leather covered cradle holding the gun.

Bill,
Thanks for the pictures. Sorry you hit snow. The museum also has a wonderful art collection. It is a wonderful place to waste a day.

Hi John/Loggy,

For the most part we had very nice weather out your way.

And yes, the Cody museum is a must see if you're in the area.

I'm out here now for a seminar at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West and the weather is in the 80s every afternoon. TR's Fox is still looking fine. There are only two other A.H. Fox Gun Co. doubles in the Cody Firearms Museum, an A-Grade 12-gauge serial number 9124, and a CE-Grade 20-gauge 201103 with Fox-Kautzky Single Selective Trigger and non-original wood. Meanwhile there are over 100 products of Parker Bros. on display. Also, there are three Magnum-Frame NID model Ithacas on display, in addition to several other Ithacas, a gun of which less than a thousand were made!!

Last time I was in Cody I was very unimpressed with the way our friend Bill Furnish's collection of American hammer doubles was displayed. I am happy to report that they now have them in verticle pull-out cases with eight guns to each rack and the eight guns standing vertically can be viewed from both sides of the rack. Unfortunately their signage has all the Model 1889s as being by E. Remington & Sons rather than the correct Remington Arms Co.
