SUMMER DGJ ISSUE

As strange as it sounds, it appears that two Fox Directors have wandered off the reservation for a spell. Well, like a set of Kruppessen tubes, at least they're aligned side by side in the latest issue. My congrats to Marse Silvers (Frank Srebro) for a splendid, Part Deux on his Ithaca Super-10 treatise. A formidable opponent to the Super Fox, to say the least. And as always the case with Frank, a wealth of knowledge and a plethora of TECHNICANA, straight from the heart of coal country!! Great job.

Thanks Steve, aka Tool Man, aka Ad Roll. But Roll neglected to mention, he did a very touching article on a certain Parker GHE and its former owner Lt. Cmdr. James K Averill who went off to war and through a twist of fate never came home. I received an advance copy of the DGJ yesterday and really enjoyed Steve's article which took tremendous research I'm sure. Photo spread is very well done and his Postscript is the icing on the cake. Foxers, look for the new Double Gun Journal in your mailboxes!

Add to that that Researcher recently bought a CE-Grade Lefever --

and that Craig Larter had a great article in the most recent Parker Pages, and we are truly men for all seasons!!

Sadly, Researcher I believe it to be just a slightly more legalized form of this:

I can't believe how thin the wrist is for a 7 pound 6 ounce 30-inch 12-gauge. A scant 4 1/8 inch circumference!!

Great job on the article about the Ithaca Super 10s, Frank. It was the first thing I read when I received the issue Saturday. Thanks for going to the effort to research and write. It is appreciated here.

It has already happened. Our fearless leader is an unrepentant ten gauge Elsie collector.

Well, I have to admit I have 16 and 20 gauge featherweights. But then again I thought everybody did somewhere in the back of their safes.

I am recovering from hip surgery and maintaining a low level of activity is killing me plus I wait for the mailman every day anticipating the DGJ. I can't wait to read Frank and Steve's articles plus I understand there is a article by Dr. Drew on Elsies.
I do admit to having a few 10 gauge Elsies, all of which I enjoy shooting and hunting with. They are beautiful guns and part of our rich waterfowl hunting tradition.

How's that hip coming Admin? Had mine done 6 Jan and am very happy now. Feel like a new man!! BTW, I love using my Elsie (yes, I just picked one up too) for hunting coon, possum and skunk. 8)

The stage arrived on the prairie yesterday; looks like a fine issue.
