Four of the regular Fox guys at the show... admiring the elusive L grade Trap gun hunted down by Tool Man.

From left, Tool Man, Fox Admin, Silvers, Foxist. Marshfellow was also there along with his dad but they're not in this pic.

It was a good show with lots of nice stuff but with only ~200 tables it didn't take too long to go around multiple times. Most of our group were lusting over a pristine "Model 1911" Pin Gun, 28" bbls that was at Elmira's table. Price was something like 2695 firm. There was an XE 32" bbls s/n range 22xxx that had a pretty steep price tag, 17500 if I remember correctly, I didn't catch the dealer's name. Our group members had seen that gun a couple of times before over the past few years. I also saw two Skeet & Upland guns, one 12 and the other 16. Both had some minor issues but they walked into the show, being looked at, so I don't know the prices. There were some lesser quality Foxes, a nice early A grade 28" at 1750, a couple of CE's, 2nd gen AE, about 1/2 dozen Sterlingworths, all mostly 12's. I probably forgot some others. Silvers

SILVERS -- glad to have finaly been able to see y'alls picture as I always read your post with interest. I'm dissapointed that you don't look older than me however --- was hoping somebody would (VBG). It's nice to be able to put a face to the messages. Ken

Ken, I remember sitting and chatting with you in rocking chairs on the porch at Deep River during the 2006 Southern. We were both chilling from the sun and heat. I thought you looked young enough. I doubt you aged much since then. You talk to so many people I'm sure you don't remember me.

I also look forward to seeing pics of your work and hearing your opinions. One of these days when I get my project stuff sorted out I'll give you a call on a special project I have in mind. Frank

Hi Mr. Frank ---- wow, that jolted my ol memory and now I do remember you ! Are you coming down again this year ? End of April is just around the corner. I'll be there along with my new partner of sorts --Boone Berlin, stockmaker. He'll have a eight foot table in my booth showing off his stockwork while I show engraving.

Even tho you aren't interested in starting anything now, it would be a great benefit to you to call and we can start discussing exactly what you want done. I have found by seriously talking about your ideas allows more ideas to surface --- now, you'll have plenty of time to mull it over until you are sure what you really want to see done. This approach will guarentee that the work done is exactly what you want --- not something I put together aftertalking to you or an email of instructions. ken

Knothole: I agree Fox guns seem to be rising in value. The days of nice $600 12ga Sterlingworths is over. But a nice Sterlingworth is still a value compared to a Parker Trojan or VH. The XE's seem to have taken off in terms of asking price. The gun Roger Bain had the late Philadelphia XE is a good example. I still believe the 12ga C grades represent a good value, the problem is finding good condition guns. Next year we hope to have a Fox booth and display so maybe we will have a meeting place.
