Northeast SxS - there's still time!

As you'll read in many posts here the Northeast SxS kicks off one week from today. For those of you still on the fence, you have time to get in gear and make plans to shoot the Hidden Hollow courses and/or one or more of the Fox competitions, look at guns in the tents and buildings, and buy/sell/trade. Along with talking and rubbing elbows with some of the Fox "personalities" on our site, with guys and gals from other SxS Associations, and with vendors who are just a name on a website or in the gun adverts on internet sites. Also, I see many Fox and some other maker guns listed on our private Members' Forum, that will be for sale at the NE SxS. And while this event isn't as large as let's say the Spring Southern, it's the one I wouldn't miss if I had to limit myself to only one SxS event per year. Just in the past weeks I had two questions from gents asking about nearby commercial airports with car rentals. They are Binghamton NY (BGM) or Scranton PA (AVP). BGM is a little closer, and there are some road and bridge repairs going on around AVP that might add a little time if driving north from there. For those considering driving from your home base you can use Montrose PA or better yet Lawton PA as mileposts for Mapquest or similar - if you want to get mileage/time estimates.

Last call for those who have been thinking about the Northeast at Hidden Hollow (aka Hausmanns).

I agree with Silvers on this. Hausmann's Hidden Hollow and its Northeast Side by Side event is to me better than the Southern. Why? I am glad that you asked...

1. Ernie Hausmann is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet! Ernie's personality is reflected in the why this event is conducted. Going to Ernie's holiday camp, oops I why thinking of a rock opera... Anyway, going to Hausmann's is like attending a family reunion where everyone gets along!

2. The shooting courses and yes there are two, a big bore and a small bore course, are top notch! Shooting them is like grouse and deer hunting in the hills (locally referred to as mountains) of Pennsylvania.

3. For fun some people shoot their 10 bore guns on the small bore course and keep up with the scores produced by those with five-figure small bores!

4. The vendors are friendly and most guns for sale are fairly priced. While there aren't as many vendors as at the Southern it would not to be severely tempted to buy another SxS while at Hausmann's!

5. The Fox, Parker, Lefever, and LC Smith associations will have displays there. If you have questions about any of those makers' guns the folks manning the booths will have answers!

There are probably a hundred more reasons to attend Hausmann's but I'll let my Fox friends list those...
