Abby gun does the spring fling

Decided at the last minute a 430 this morning to ditch my usual shotgun loaded with Hevi-shot designed for shooting birds at 50 yards and go old school and carry the Abbygun. Abby is 14 plus now and her hunting days are over. However, when Dan Rossiter and I designed and built the Abby gun my thought was to have a gun I could use for everything. Came in at 6 lb 12 oz when completed. Today load of choice would be RST's in size 6. Also because of work requirements I figured that this might be my last hunt this year so I wasn't to worried about being picky. Also my uncle who owns this property outside of Harrisonburg, Va told me he is putting it on the market so this might be the last year to hunt anyway,
Got there late as I actually hunted a closer farm first and heard nothing. Anyway, to my uncles place at 9 am or so. Went to area which often had birds early in the morning and saw scratching and some dropping. Slipped a bit further up through some dense pines (really a pine thicket) and made a few calls. Within 30 seconds I heard a gobble back. Sounded funny so I figure it might be a Jake. I called a few more times and he gobbled again. Actually gobbled 4 times total. Up the hill he comes and I've got the gun up and ready. I figure 30 yards is good and 20 yards is really good. At 20 yards I pull the back trigger and over he goes.
16.4 pound Jake and the Abbygun has delivered its first turkey. I've killed a few quail and a few chukar with it (preserve hunts) and a bunch of doves. Its certainly done its job and I'll carry it more this coming year then last year. Anyway, a couple of pics are attached.

And of course the dog made this all possible:
