Approximate value of decent Super Fox

I know the answer to this question is going to be "it depends" and I'm sure value depends on alot of things. However I've been looking for a decent Super Fox for a few years now. Not hard - but I watch several online sites from time to time and always keep an eye out at better gun shows, etc. I have seen a few for sale - but they were either not the right one for me - or I found them at times when I was broke. I have seen everything from $3,500 clunkers (here's an example http://www.csmcspecials.com/product_p/24799.htm) - to a very nice gun that a guy was asking $11,000 for. This was at a gun show and he was not willing to negotiate.

My question is what would one expect to pay in the current market for a nice Super Fox - used but good bores, barrels, etc - no significant mechanical flaws. $11,000 seems very high to me in the current market. I would think more like $6,000 but perhaps I'm delusional. I don't know that a Super Fox would be my every day duck gun - but I've always wanted one and would enjoy shooting a few birds with it from time to time.

I would think 6-7 k would buy a nice example, they are hard to find in original condition.

Supers are out there and once in a while they come up for sale, but in my experience most of the good ones are sold/bought through personal contacts. Usually the ones that show up at gun shows or on internet sites have already been picked over. I know of several honest Supers that changed hands over recent months for 5 to 8K.

I think a Super Fox with 2 3/4" chambers will sell for less than one with 3" cahmbers. I sold a solid Super with 2 3/4' chambers not long ago for $4500. Jim

Thanks guys - that's about what I thought. I'll have to keep looking - definitely want one with 3" chambers. Somehow Im not doing well finding one thru personal contacts.
