Just want to let you all know that John Callahan and his wife Linda were at the AHFCA booth on Thursday. Wow what a treat to meet and talk with both of them! Most of us only know John from his excellent Fox "factory letters" and signature on same. John brought some show and tell with him; what I saw before someone called me away briefly were vintage Fox advertising "galley proofs" or something like that .... maybe one of the other guys can better descrbe them. We did some pics of the group but they're not on my camera and someone will probably post them when they get caught up. Also, kudos are in order to Tom "Marshfellow" who had a hand in helping the visit happen. Silvers

Hands down, the best picture of me in years. I was actually a hand model back in the early 80's!!

Great pic. I like Frank's hat. Looks like the felt ones made by Stetson that my Grandaddy used to wear.

Thanks Stan, yes it's a vintage felt sold by Adams hats here in Scranton PA. I found it at an antique place about 20 years ago while my wife was looking for goodies. Toolman wanted to buy it while at the VC and I told him I'd trade for a nice Fox.

So you're from Scranton !
I lived in Dickson's City for a few months back about 2004 . Also belonged to the Factoryville Sportsmans Club while I was there !
I assume you are a member there as well as it was the only place I found semi close to Scranton that had skeet , trap and sporting !
The thing that impressed me was what the then prez called "Olympic quality Horseshoe Pits" and the rather large metal building that was for mechanical stuff !
Also was impressed with the only $100 dues and beer on tap in the clubhouse included as long as one didn't get carried away !

Yes 6 pt I'm familar with Dickson City and the Factoryville Club and actually was there yesterday with some friends to shoot the 100 bird course which was beautiful with the changing/dropping leaves and its spectacular views from some of the hills. The skeet field was in operation too. Horseshoes are also big at the club which I understand has about 400 members currently. As you had written, root beer is on tap and regular beer for after shooting only, and it's currently an honor system whereby you draw your beverage and add a donation to the cup. Last I heard the receipts don't even come close to the beverage bill, and the club covers the difference. The club is very supportive of youth shooters with its own SCTP and smallbore teams and is well thought of in the community.

When I was a member they claimed that Coors gave them a heck of a deal on the beer since they let Coors put banners all over the place at any Sporting events .
Well as I remmember they had birch beer/root beer as well as Silver Bullet on tap out front and in the members area in the back they had Silver Bullet and St Paulie Girl .
You gotta understand this was quite unusual for me as here in VA one didn't see that back in the 80's or 90's .
Nothing wrong with it just something I wasn't used to !
