Brian: The AHFCA does not display at the Orvis event. I personally do not plan on attending. Craig

Several people I know enjoy the event very much. However, it is not a double gun exclusive event. I will examine the exhibitor list before making plans to attend.

Right now, after being outside the US for over 10 consecutive months, any hunting/gun/outdoor event is good enough.

Hello Brian. I'm sure you will have a ball at Sandanona. There are a lot worse places to spend a cool, clear Sept. weekend. I may try to attend on Saturday. I have heard from several that the event is gaining 'steam.' Definitely more of a game fair feel with a lot of "try before you buy" demos. Of course, we will be at the VC at Addieville the following weekend.

BTW----thanks for sending us a week of your Af-gan weather!! You could fry an egg on Chromox barrels here today....but hey, at least it's a 'DRY' heat. Dry heat my arrrrrrrrsssssssssss.....feels like my head is stuck in a dryer vent!!!! LOL!!!
Stay safe!!----TOOL
On the whole....I'd rather be in Philadelphia....

Brian:
First... thank you for your service in Afghanistan. I was there in 2009-2010. Yes, it is hotter than h... in the summer months.

I have been to the Orvis Sandanona fall event several times. It is a GREAT event. I usually try to take a squad of cadets there to shoot sporting clays and I usually shoot my Fox A Grade (fully restored by Doug Turnbull). There are lots of exhibitors (fancy guns!) and great food. I highly recommend you attend. The Orvis store is nice as well. The event is very veteran friendly.

Stay safe.
