I have looked at a lot of the reloading data recipe's but it seems to me that there aren't a lot of options to keep the pressure around 7000 and the FPS about 1200. At least from the limited supplies of reloading components.

For instance, here is a recipe but I can't find all of the components, namely the primers.

Lead Shot 12 1 oz. Clays Rem. 209P CB-4100-12 18 7,200 PSI 1180

That would be perfect, but I can't find those primers and I'm pretty sure that particular powder is out of stock at all of the places I have looked. here's another recipe..

Lead Shot 12 1 oz. Titewad Fed. 209A Purple PC 17.2 7,200 PSI 1180

Ok the powder is in stock but the Primers are not and what wads are those?

I've had two different people offer up their Reloader on a long term loan, so I was going to try to start doing this so I can shoot my A with some 7/8oz loads or setting up some low recoil loads for my current clays gun just for the heck of it. However, it's looking like more of a pain than anything at this point.

Are you guys experiencing the same thing or have any ideas of where I can get the components together to do what I'm trying to accomplish?

I shoot 3/4 oz 12ga loads using the following..

3/4oz lead
Rem hull
Win 209 primer
15 grains clays or titewad
Clay buster 3/4oz wad (1034 I think)

Right around 1200fps and about 7000 psi

Probably shot 3-4k of these through my skeet & upland and I love em.

After several years of shooting the $49 a flat Federals in 12- and 20-gauge in my newer guns and working down my supply of reloads in the older ones, I did a round of reloading this spring. I loaded up all of my 16-gauge Federal hulls with my remaining supply of Winchester 209 primers, American Select, Down Range DR-16 wads and 7/8 ounce of shot. My 12-gauge load is a Remington STS hull, a Remington 209P primer, 16.4 Grains of Clays, a TGT-12S wad and 7/8 ounce of shot -- according to the book this load is 1200 fps at 6300 psi. I loaded just over ten flats of those, my Fox-Sterlingworth Ejector Skeet & Upland Game Gun really likes them!! Remington primers were available in the Spokane area, but the price had really jumped to $50 per thousand. Federal primers, that I use in my old Federal paper hulls, were $36.50 per thousand. I also loaded all my Remington STS .410-bore hulls with Remington 209P primers, Lil' Gun, Remington wad and 1/2 ounce of shot, and I loaded all my Gun Club and STS 20-gauge hulls with my 3/4 ounce load, also using Remington 209P primers. I had no problem finding any of the wads or powder I wanted, but by the time we left for Alaska on 10 May, I hadn't found a single Winchester shotshell primer available for sale. It appeared from making the rounds of the various emporiums, that .410-bore and 28-gauge STS shells were non existant and 12- and 20-gauges were in short supply. Still plenty of Federal 12- and 20-gauges but now up to $54 per flat.

Upon my return from "The Great Land" I find all the emporiums now have Winchester 209 primers, but priced nearly as high as the Remingtons.
