North Dakota Pheasants

Hi Guy's,
I just returned from hunting the North Dakota pheasant opener this past weekend and thought you might be interested in what I found.
I hunt the New England/ Regent area and can say from my observations that the bird numbers are spectacular this year. The local's tell me the #'s in this area are up 30% from last year. "which was a great year" The cover is much better this year due to good moisture through out the summer. There are still some standing crops "mainly sunflowers" that are holding some birds out of the CRP type cover. When these are cut and the weather cools some, hunting should be out-standing "not that it's not already".
I had one of those memorable times last Sunday morning. There was a light fog that had the cover moist and the air cool. The dogs ran on supercharger mode due to the conditions. The birds held tight as glue with the senting conditions perfect. All the birds had to be kicked-up under stanch points with several of them having multiple dog's honoring each other. It may get as good but in no way could it get better than this!
If you want a good work-out for you, the dogs and your Fox guns North Dakota would be a good bet this year.
I hope all of you have a great season this year!
Paul
