Fox Collectors

Well I knew something was missing when the Gun wouldn't close; without manually moving the top lever to the right. Everthing else works perfect but the gun must be closed manually. After some research on this site and careful removal of the Tang Screw it appears that the Trip Spring on my 12GA Fox Sterlingworth Ser# 912-- is not in the hole. Is there a known part # of a spring that will replace the one I lost? Is there any other part(s) that were small or fast enough to disappear before my very eyes.

I have lost several of the little springs when i removed trigger plate screw and turned gun back over .I have heard of using a spring out of a ball point pin but never tried it. Bobby

Thanks for the reply Bobby! I am hoping to find a quality replacement spring. I saw some guys have said that worked but I really want the gun to be 99% with a replacement spring that's correct or at least high quality. Thanks again....

I've measured and posted the specs on that spring before, but can't seem it find it now. It's a fairly stiff little bugger and I never found one out of a pen or anywhere else laying around the house that worked.

If you buy one of these spring kits from Brownells for <$10 you'll have a lifetime supply for yourself and a dozen buddies. You'll probably want to trim one to about 1/2 inch.

Mike, Thanks that's exactly what I'll do! The truth be told, I just didn't like the idea of the Ball Point Pen spring even though some guys say that has worked for them for many years. Thanks again, for the tip on 1/2" legnth as well; that's a big help as I had no idea.
