PAC Fox Data Base

Hi, I was looking for more information on a Philadelphia Arms Co. Fox I have and found this site. I thought you might want to add it to your Data Base. I saw this gun in a St. Joseph, MO pawn shop about ten years ago. After about 4 visits within a few months I couldn't stand to see it gathering dust anymore and finally decided to buy it. Athough I thought it was way over priced for the shape it was in. The shop owner was asking $450.00 for it and I ended up paying $275.00 plus trading in a well used Marlin semi-auto 22. I really didn't know what I had until I read McIntosh's book and was pleasantly surprised. It's an A grade, SN 908, 2 3/4" chambers with 30" barrels choked full/mod. All the SN's match and mechanically it's in great shape. Closes tight, shoots well, with mirror bright bores (although I suspect they have been honed). I've hunted with it for pheasants and partridge several times. But cosmedically it's fair at best. The case colors are practically non existent, the outside of the barrels badly pitted, and comparing it with pictures from this site the stock seems to have been replaced at one time with one made of tiger maple with a hack job recoil pad installed and a cracked (but repaired and tight) wrist. The forearm is the original walnut. Any comments or additional info welcomed.
