I believe I read somewhere that when converting a standard Sterlingworth to a custom straight stock that one or both of the tangs needed to be bent up to properly fit the straight stock or is that only necessary if one intends to raise the comb height?

if your sterlingworth has a good deal of drop it may be a good idea to bend the tangs up.Top tang is easy to bend by heating with torch but bottom tang is another story.Sometimes i slightly bend top tang up even on higher comb pistol grip stock.You can grind off a little metal on bottom tang on bottom around rear tang screw to end of tang for straight grip. Thanks Bobby. The gun currently has 2 3/4 inches of drop with both a previously fitted but unshaped/unfinished straight custom replacement stock and an original Sterlingworth stock. Bottom tang has not been ground. I think I will stick with the original style Sterlingworth stock and sell the straight stock and lengthened trigger guard that came with the gun.
