The A.H., Fox Gun Co. was incorporated in the spring of 1905 and the earliest advertising I've found for them is from October 1905. That serial number list which was originally put out by Lightner Library in 1976 and is reproduced several places on the web is not at all correct. We believe graded 12-gauge Ansley H. Fox doubles start at serial number 1. Pictures of serial number 2 were included in Michael McIntosh's book on Ansley H. Fox, and I've seen and handled serial number 8, and many with two- and three-digit serial numbers. The surviving record cards for Graded Ansley H. Fox 12-gauge doubles only include a handful of cards below 9600.
