Fox 12ga. ejectors

Need advice. Just picked up a very nice BE 12ga. and the right barrel ejector will only push a
fired shell hull barely clear of the gun, and thats only if the right barrel only is fired. If both barrels
are fired the right one only pushes as far as an extracter gun would. The left barrel is strong in
both cases throwing them out about 3 to 4 feet.

Hoping someone can advise me on what to do, whether I need a gunsmith or something I can do.
I assume the problem can be corrected. I've owned Fox's before but never had this problem.

Thanks, Larry

Larry,it could be a weak or broken ejector spring but i have never seen a broken one on a Fox.Right ejector sear may not be tripping or cocking properly. You could clean the chamber and see if that helps.Could have build up or rust in chamber. Is ejector working smoothly in and out? You can easily remove them by taking cocking slide off and loosen the screw in slot that secures ejectors. Bobby

I just fixed a Fox B grade for a fellow in Kansas with the exact same problem. Is the shell being kicked into the frame? It was the case with this B grade. I had to time the ejector, which is accomplished by filing the portion of the sear that engages with the blocks sticking through the frame. Not an overly tough job but one must know what he or she is doing. Jerry Andrews
