I had asked the Board about posting a copy of the work order card for the 12 gauge F grade (non ejector) Fox serial number 13292 that was owned by Theodore Roosevelt. Craig obliged and sent me a copy which I have copied below.

It seems this gun did not start out life to be made specifically for TR at the Fox works in Philadelphia in the 1908/9 time frame. It was one of two F grades to be made for Exposition but 13292 ended up with TR for his African trip instead.

I'm hoping Researcher, aka Dave Noreen, and others will fill in some of the details.

Thought this topic may be of interest to any Fox gun owner, or soon to be Fox owner, or hope to be Fox owner as TR's gun will be auctioned at Julia's in October.

Some interpretation of some of the notes on the card may be helpful but it looks like the back of the card says "Pres. Roosevelt".

Thanks for posting that card jollybill I think hes Wife ordered the gun for TR. but Mr.Fox gave it to her as a gift. I have a list of some of the other guns that went on the trip. I know that a drilling from the Moundsville West Virgina firm went along too. Anyway thanks for posting that card Jollybill and also Craig for looking it up.

Jolly Bill,

thanks for posting that. Nice of you to "burn" your free look-up and "taking one for the team" on such a significant Fox gun.

Everything that can be said about Teddy, 13292, was covered in Chapter 7 of McIntosh's book, along with many pictures, including the dust jacket cover, of 13291, the FE-Grade mate to Teddy's gun, that for many years resided in Pop Headrick's collection. I feel confident in saying that up to this point, Bill Jr. had made 13291 the most published Fox gun, in recent history -- The Double Gun Journal, Volume Fourteen, Issue 2, is the most complete article.
