Front trigger - Right Barrel, Why?

These are probably dumb questions, but any theory as to why the front trigger shoots the right barrel and the back trigger shoots the left barrel on SxS's? The front trigger is on the right relative to the back trigger, which makes sense because it is more in line with the right barrel. However, is there any practical reason why the front trigger on my O/U's (which shoots the bottom barrel) is also on the right relative to the back trigger? Do left handed folks find it easier to "find" the back trigger, which is on the left relative to the front trigger, when shooting SxS's and O/U's?

Normally, the more open barrel is the right barrel and accordingly the front trigger (also on the right) will fire that more open barrel first. Then the finger finger will slide back and hit the rear trigger as needed, which will fire the tighter barrel. This is the normal set up for a right handed shooter. Some of these were set up for left hand shooters, and the trigger mechanism can we switched where your left index finger would fire the left barrel first. In those cases, the chokes on the gun can be reversed where the tighter barrel is the left barrel and the more open barrel is the right. Theory is the front trigger should always fire the more open barrel. At least I think is the best reason I can come up with. PS. If a lefty ordered a custom Fox in 1915 or whatever, the factory would have no problem setting it up for him as he needed. My 2 cents.
