The colors look correct and original to my eye, but I'll be the first to admit that it doesn't mean that they are. Other than those dings in the stock, the gun looks like it's fresh from the factory.

i realize now that i have asked critique on a gun for sale on gb which may be against the rules. sorry. but i own it now so from this point on you will be looking at a gun that i own and is no longer for sale. i would still like opinions on it, even though it is not bo whoop. thanks. just my two cents. if i can't ask an opinion from the forum about a gun that i am fixin to spend a couple grand on, then the forum is of little use to me. i could care less about some 175,000 bo whoop. imho times are too hard to spend that kind of money on a gun and if you make a rule not to talk about a gun for sale then don't talk out both sides of your mouth. this could be a good and helpful forum to those of us who want a nice fox but can't afford 12,000 for an xe.

saw that one! Looked pretty good to me!! Post up some better pictures of it when you get it. I don't think the mods will care at this point if you own the gun.

Cheers and congrats!

it looked good to me too, i don't have the trained eye as good as some of you guys, when things are done right its hard for me to tell the difference from original. but it looked original in all the nooks and crannys. i know it sounds crazy but i even look for dust and places where the oil rag hasn't been. redone guns are too clean in the tight places.

To aid in the discussion on this gun, here is the link to the GunBoker listing: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... =161488851

It looks like a pretty nice high condition 20 Gauge Sterlingworth to me.

And Tony, if you got it close to the starting bid price, I thing you did OK. Maybe better than OK.

Tony, Often the discussion on here seems to be about higher grade and scarce models of the Fox gun, and while they are interesting, I think that you will find that the majority of us are just fine with our less than perfect Sterlingworth Shooters. Your Sterlingworth is a real dandy. Glad you got it and good shooting in the future. Fred

Thanks all of you. I can barely afford a sterlingworth. But i love foxes. They are the best. Hard to find good ones. Most you see for sale have major issues.thanks again. I will post some really good pics. Tony

took a look at the GB ad; the gun looks original, but i'm definitely no expert on case coloring. Stock also looks original, and nice to see it wasnt cut to add a recoil pad. Really doesnt look like the gun was shot much. Nice find. If it were mine, my only dillema (sp) would be, should I take it out to hunt/shoot clays regularly, or now look for a good small bore Fox shooter condition to compliment it? S.
