For anyone with the time and inclination, I'd be much obliged if you could share a pic or two of your splinter forend tip. I'm working on a new one and I only have one to examine. It's a custom treatment, and I like it, but I'm open to ideas. I'd like to see any original (including schanbles) or custom you're willing and able to share. Views such as these would be useful, but I won't be picky.

Thank you, Sir, that's just what I was hoping to see. And I wasn't aware of the Galazan gallery either. Thanks for the link, too.

Once the holidays are upon us, i will take some pictures of some early A grades and B grades, I think some of them have original fore-ends, with the schnabel treatment. Have to wait for this VA snow to melt tho, to get to use the outside sunlight for the photos.

Thanks, Dave!
If not another pic, can I trouble you for a description of how the wood at the very tip of the XE transitions to the bottom rib? In a profile view, would you say the wood rises vertically, or does it angle backward on a covex or concave curvature? Maybe that will make sense if you look at my pics.

Mike the darker wood is a early C and the lighter wood is a HE. The HE is more robust. Craig

Wow, thanks Fellas! I've seen those treatments on restocks and it's great to know they're authentic. That gives me a lot of latitude to proceed. Best and Merry Christmas to all!
