Barrel weight

Post by HardCash »

I have read that the Fox Barrel weight markings may or may not be exact. However what are the markings and is #1 supposed to be the heaviest or the lightest?

#1 is the heaviest to #4 the lightest. Then circa 1922 they added the #0 Super-Fox barrels even heavier then #1. I have some problems with those barrel weight charts Roe transcribed from old plans, like the fact that #1 weight 16-gauge barrels are heavier the #1 weight 12-gauge barrels, and #2s are the same in 12- and 16-gauges.
