Recommended pressure limits and loads

Post by Snipe Hunter »

Just over a year ago I got a 20 gauge Sterlingworth, sn 260xxx. When checked by my gunsmith the gauge stopped before it got to 2 1/2". I load all my shells but finding 2 1/2" 20 gauge load data has been next to impossible for me. I have a sheet from Ballistic Products with a handful of loads with pressure levels running from 9000 psi to 10500 psi. I don't want to tamper with the original chambers nor do I want to shoot shells that are as much as 3/8" longer than the chambers. Is there an accepted max operating pressure that is generally recommended to stay under? Does anyone have any pressure tested 2 1/2" data to offer. Thanks for any advise.
