Has anyone in the New England had Mike Orlen of Amherst MA do work on their barrels? I just spoke with him and he seems like he knows his stuff but I would like to hear some personal experiences. If the public forum is a concern, please feel free to PM me. Thanks, Chris

He's done 3 sets for me. I won't consider anyone else at this time.
He does a variety of smithing, but a lot of internal barrel work. I believe his stellar reputation for great work, prices and turnaround is based on that. I mention it because the only remotely negative comment I've heard was in regard to less-than-lightening speed turnaround on a slow rust bluing. I suspect that might have been due to unrealistic expectations.

I have a 16 Sterlingworth that he did chambers, forcing cones and chokes on and it throws the most even patterns I've ever seen.
