First post here...I was lead here from the doublegun forum.

Well for the first time in my life I bought something AFTER having done some homework. I read Mike M. Book on the Fox and made a spread sheet of all of the different graded foxes that I found (excluding A grades, did not have time for all of those) and ended upw with a nicely restored CE. It's nothing special but it was what I could afford and I think it will shoot nice....my only complaint is that someone cut the stock up but I can live with that...

someone buggered the screw on the bottom

So next I would really like to find a decent B grade (old style only) and/or a 16 bore SW...

looking forward to learning a lot here!!!

welcome!

A big hello, AsavageFox!
Congratulations on your selection, and welcome to the gang! I think you will find a great bunch of knowledge here on this site. We all have something in common.......we just love them foxes! I have had one practically all my life, and I still have my first one, a 16 ga sw that I am customizing. Enjoy the group!

Congratulation on purchasing your first Fox! I can see that you are bitten with the Fox bug and are already on the look out for the next one.

Welcome to the site, it's a great bunch over here that I've learned a lot from. You should consider joining the association and then be able to see the members form where guns can be listed for sale by the other members. It's well worth the price of admission.

ASavageFox Wow! Thats the way to start out with a very nice CE. that gun is from an period that has produced some very fine examples of Ansleys attention to detail. I have C #14505 which is very close to your pictured gun and I feel that they have outstanding worksmanship in that range not to mention knock out wood! Best of luck with it and good luck on you search for The Sterlingworth 16. Paul
