Doing some cleaning and rearranging of the safe today. Attached are pics of Savage Era 16 gauges. Love these guns!!

Top to bottom;
1. AE 16 with ST and factory BT per the card. Originally ordered w/DW Pad now has Jostam Hy-Gun pad
2. Sterlingworth 16 w/30” barrels - while Savage era it has the Philly style PG and forend
3. Sterlingworth Skeet & Upland w/straight stock and short tang
4. Sterlingworth ejector gun with original hang tag. Savage era/style all the way
5. SPE Skeet & Upland with BT & straight stock
6. A Grade factory 2 barrel set with straight stock and two BT forends and letters as such

While I’d love to have higher graded guns I truly do appreciate these fine Savage era entry level guns for their functionality and aesthetics!!! As I’ve said before I am a fan of the 16 gauge!!!

These three guns are all two barrel sets.
1. A Grade Philly 16 gauge with second set of Chicopee Falls factory set of barrels. I’ve shared this gun previously as it is my go to grouse/woodcock gun 80% of the time. While the original gun is Philly I appreciate the versatility of the second set of Chicopee Falls Savage barrels

2. The A Grade 16 Savage gun previously pictured showing the second set of factory barrels. Both barrels are 26”. One set M/F and the other set IC/M

3 Bottom gun is an SPE Skeet & Upland with factory POW grip and BT forend with second set of barrels w/standard SP forend. A unique combination on this gun.

Wow! That’s a lot of 16’s. I love the Schnabel forearm on that AE.

Very nice Brett, thanks for sharing. Sterlingworths have so much going for the collector of Fox guns. You have put together a great collection!

I'm always intrigued by the many variations of checkering patterns, especially on the fore ends of Fox guns. Seems there was not much rhyme or reason and the stock checkers just went with how they felt a particular day. I have a factory beavertail ejector fore end that doesn't remotely match any of yours. Go figure!

Jimmy, totally agree. I think the checkering patterns on forends changed over time, were different for ejector vs. extractor, splinter vs. BT, and other factors.

I think one of those guns might have been in my safe before.
