Not quite certain what to think of this 1907 DS I recently picked up but for $325 I figured I couldn't lose...12ga 2 3/4" chambers, 30" full/mod choked bbls

I predict next Fall we’ll see it along side some greenheads.

That was a steal! Congratulations on a good deal.
It looks in the pics like the action and lock plates may have been blued, but that may be just the lighting. It should make a heckuva good shooter if it fits you reasonably well.

I think the entire gun may have been refinished. The forend has also been replaced. But,with ejectors and a price like that, what’s not to like. Congratulations…I would have bought it too. Lefevers are great guns.

Yes it appears someone blued it and then rubbed away or did something with it to try to give it a CCH type greyish pattern appearance...tricksters!

It was advertised as reblued but for the price what the heck. It locks up nicely and should be fun to kill a few mallards with next season although it actually looks more suited to a diver hunter so maybe I should lend it to my good friend Wild Wings to take to the lake to shoot them poop ducks he likes to hunt.

Most definitely...if I decide it's worthy of a do-over I will have Chris Dawe reshape the forend and make a proper splinter style it would have worn back in the day.

It is odd to see a DS with ejectors.
In regards to the condition of the gun, and to educate you in case you were unaware. The forend wood is not original. The frame has been blued. And the barrels appear to have been hot blued. Make sure the ribs are tight.
