A couple of L.C. Smith's

My Dad and I share the love of double guns. While Foxes are my favorite, my Dad loves L.C. Smiths. I really like them as well, my first double gun purchase was a field grade 16 gauge that I have killed a pile of game with. Recently, he got the opportunity to go look at a gentleman's gun collection he had inherited and wanted to sell a few of. I came with him to help look for some gems. We came home with three that we were very pleased with.
Top- Ideal grade long range 12 gauge. 32" barrels
Middle- Field grade 20 gauge with 28" barrels and in fantastic shape.
Bottom- Field grade 410 with 28" barrels. The receiver has been blued unfortunately, but pretty cool to have a 410.

All double trigger guns. Good!
I know the Hunter One single trigger is often maligned but I've owned a number of LCS's so fitted in the past and never had a trigger mechanical problem, of course I checked out all of them for trigger function before buying. But I do have a personal issue with Hunter One's having excessively long trigger pulls and typically with much different R-L pull weights, both of which drive me nuts. Sold off all of them and nowadays I won't even look at a Hunter One triggered LCS no matter what the Grade and condition. All this is JME. frank

I agree Mr. Frank. I've always loved double triggers and never had a problem shooting them. I love the immediate option to swap barrels.

Nice that you were able to pick up three nice guns across the gauge spectrum. The LCS .410’s are highly sought after here in my neck of the woods. Is the Long Range 12 chocked F/F? That would be a Turkey slayer! Nice job and glad you got to do it a/your Dad!!

Thank you sir! My little boy just started kindergarten, so I can't wait till he's big enough to shoot the little 410. The Long Range appears to be choked XF/F best I can tell. Definitely going to see how it patterns closer to spring!
