Hi, Boys,
This is a sterlie I bought for 190.00 with no stock or trigger guard. I thought it would be a pretty good practice project. I liked it well enough, that I did a 20, and have a sixteen ready to engrave. I'll save those postings for later. Bryan ClaryImage

Very nice. Did you handle the engraving and stock work yourself? What are the gun's specs?

Mike and Brian,You guys can have a good laugh on me, and probably wonder how in the world did he manage to screw up the process in presenting posts! Well, anyway, I found a combination, that worked to some extent.

You wanted to know some specs; dac 1 13/16, dah 2 19/32, cast-off 3/8, lop 13/12 - 14 1/2, barrel 30", bore dia @muzzal .698, and 672.
The only thing that I did on this gun was in fitting the plate and some prepping toward engraving. This was the first attempt at customizing a fox, and I didn't have no more idea than a goose as to what I wanted. After about an hour of head scratching, we drew out a design on a cardboard box and decided to go for it. I could talk for a week and still not describe the guy that done this work. After all was said and done, he convinced me that I could do it if I wanted to bad enough! So I threw caution to the wind and started acquiring some engraving tools and also going to GRS for a week of engraving that was taught by Marty Rabino, a master engraver. My projects have been limited to practice since, but I am presently setting up to do a " guina pig rem. 870 wingmaster". When I finish it, it will be a Fox (I hope)! I have a 20 ga fox that I have done basically the same way that I will post later, and a 16 ga that has been stocked and is ready for engraving. Boy, I hope this reply goes through, as it is my second attempt! It's certainly been a pleasure conversing with you guys, and I,m sure there will be more later. Brian, be carefull over there, be as wiley as a fox, and I am sure we will in touch later.

Brian, I I intended to ask a gunsmithing question.......do you do any facing up on foxes? There's no one around here that can do it right. I've had 3 done, and had to finish them up myself......with a file and a lot of blue. Bryan
