Attended the show in Kansas City Saturday. Walked the show twice; similar to every other trade show (and I used to work them for a living!). Was surprised that there weren't Pheasant Fest t-shirts or hats or similar "souvenir" items for sale. It was cool to see and meet the dogs; I was a little disappointed that there were so many stores or online retailers with piles of the same goods you can buy every day, but I guess it make sense. Some were offering discounts. LOTS of outfitters/lodges/pay-to-hunt outfits; I think every town in South Dakota was there :) . I listened in briefly on a couple of the sessions but nothing held my interest long enough to sit through. I did learn about an organization dedicated to preserving public access hunting which I intend to investigate further; that is something I care deeply about. I'm glad I went, but frankly there wasn't much to make me want to attend another. Just one old codger's opinion, YMMV and probably will :D . I mostly hung out at the Parker and LC Smith booths; no Fox booth to visit :( . Someone snapped this pic of some old fat guy with a very sweet little Parker PH in 20ga...

I’ve often wondered how Pheasant Fest is. Like Jeff I’ve never attended either. I have seen several on line retailers I frequent had special Pheasant Fest discounts so probably a good way to get their product in front of a target audience and drive some off season sales. Thanks for the report. Curious what your feedback is on the booth activity at the Parker and LC Smith tables.

Did you eventually have to give "Phil's gun" back to it's rightful owner? Asking for a friend. 8) Thanks for the report.

This was my first one. Traffic was good at both booths I'm told. I know the Parker guys signed up several new members; don't know about sign-ups at the Smith booth. Yeah Daryl, and believe me it was hard :( !

As a former member of the BOD I lobbied low to medium-hard for participating in this event. Now that I am retired from the BOD and a wealthy government retiree to boot, I may revisit the urge to make the journey. Always liked the Twin Cities. one of only 2 locations (the other one was Denver) I ever considered when I got laid off from my job in KC in the early 1970s. Neither panned out so I returned to the Chesapeake country and never looked back. Kevin
