According to the serial number chronology, done by Lightner Library back in 1976, 101424 would be a 1926 vintage gun.

A few years ago Savage Arms Corp., that bought the A.H. Fox Gun Co. in late 1929 and moved production to their factory in Utica, NY, sent all the surviving A.H. Fox production cards along with their Savage and Stevens records to the McCracken Research Library at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming, and you can get a on your gun from them. --

Thank you do you know a rough value for it? I payed about $330 dollars and it needs Some work done to it I know the wood is split on the forearm and it needs some repair there. hope I didn't spend too much but I would like a good Fox my great grandpa had one and I know a good gunsmith that will probably help me out on the work.

IMO based on the condition you are providing us, it is worth what you paid for it if the barrels are sound.

I’m with Tom. If the barrels are sound you did just fine at that price. Keep us posted as your project continues. Would love to see you get it fixed up and back in the field. Good luck!! Brett
