I just picked up a Sterlingworth 20 gauge with 26' barrels and double ivory beads. I am wondering if the double ivory was a special order or common in that model?
Thank you

The options of twin ivory beads and/or a recoil pad were options available on the Sterlingworth all along. However, when Savage took over they began calling a Sterlingworth with both these options a Sterlingworth Deluxe. I have a Philadelphia 12 ga. Sterly with 30" barrels that has original twin ivories and no recoil pad.

Further to Stan's reply, if it's a Savage Sterly with a 6-slot Jostam pad I'd call it a Sterlingworth Deluxe. Kind of uncommon but not especially so. You'll probably want to check the length of the choke tapers and if the barrel keels are present to confirm/deny if the barrels were cut. frank

The Lyman or Marbles sights could also have been added after market. One would need a letter from Cody to verify them being done at the factory.
