By 10:45 there had been no opportunities, and only one mallard that landed a long way out in the lake. I unloaded my gun, zipped it into the case and packed up my shell bag. As I looked up, 3 mallards flew over, headed for the far side. I gave them a couple of quacks and the old highball. They turned, so I loaded my gun and gave them a few more quacks. About 100 yards to my left they set their wings and headed right towards me. At the last second, two veered behind my blind while the suzie passed right in front. She passed at about 20 yards, so as any gentleman would, I fired a warning shot. She turned away from me and when I fired my 2nd shot, she was dead before she hit the water. I’m really starting to like Kent ammo.

There are times, Jeff, when I’m so gentlemanly, I fire multiple warning shots before watching them safely leave the area. It’s all for conservation purposes of course! Glad you’re enjoying yourself! Eagerly awaiting cooler temps and our bird seasons to open up.

Thanks Daryl, but I've taken a few ducks with my Super Fox (4 this year). The first couple of years I was "lukewarm" on the famous Super, but this year I'm really liking it. One thing I've learned from this organization is that it pays to take the time to figure out the best ammo for a particular gun. You have to spend the time, and money (ammo), but the end result is well worth it. Not all ammo is created equal, and what is ideal for one person might not be the best for someone else.

Jeff, firing a warning shot is truly the gentlemanly thing to do!!
