Thanks Fred. You’re close , but that’s an XE. Back in May I bought a 12 ga. XE with 28” barrels. I believe the advertised weight was 6 lbs. 12 oz. which I figured would be good for pheasant hunting. Fortunately, yesterday I was presented with two nice opportunities. I couldn’t be happier with the way it handled.

Long time Fox member Tom Damiani (aka Sparky) had a good day yesterday taking pheasants with both his 16 ga. A5 and his Model 12. South Dakota’s abundant pheasant population gives a hunter the chance to use a wide variety of guns.

I love Fox shotguns, but today I decided to diversify. While “blocking” I took a nice rooster with my 1881 Parker Lifter.

Yep, hit 82* today. We had to work hard today battling the heat but we survived.

Yes Fred. I think I’ve done this trip 6 times, while Daryl, Milt and Tom have come out here 20 some years. It’s strictly roosters and a 3 bird limit. Shooting starts at 10:00 a.m. We have hunted ducks at sunrise, but with the current dry spell there is no water on the farmer’s property, so no duck hunting for us.
