Interesting gun for sure, it seems like a legitimate DE special with a replaced CE grade stock.

A few additional pictures of the watertable.
I really like the engraving. What say you???

I liked the engraving as well.... ends about there. Frankly, it went for less than I thought it would.

Yes the engraving is special, very nice. Burnishing marks and cross hatching on the frame bar are unusual at least to my eye. My other comment is on the angle of butt/pad relative to the comb, and thus the pitch would be excessive. But it is a collector gun and as we know most collectors hardly ever shoot their guns. frank

Yes; unique and well done engraving style and execution. What did it sell for? Kevin

That is the only picture I have of 19490. At the time I saw it a new stock was desperately needed. The story I was told at the time I saw it was that it had spent years in the groundskeepers shed at a Maryland golf course and was fired to start their tournaments.

I'm really perplexed by Lot 467 the 20-gauge AE-Grade upgraded to FE. All that engraving, gold inlays and fancy checkering on a dirt plain table leg piece of wood?!?
The 12-gauge upgrade Lot 468 has a bit better wood, but not up the original B-grade I posted the other day!!
