Here's a couple of photos of Miss Ruby and her first Ruffed Grouse, taken during the start of the 2024 Minnesota grouse season.
She is not quite 6 months old and is little hunting machine. She pointed/flushed 4 single grouse that day, and I was fortunate to kill the only one that gave me a shot - the other 3 went behind trees before I could shoot.

That is special, a young dog's first grouse is huge!
Congratulations to both of you.

My pup is from a breeding by a friend in Jamestown, ND. His female (my pup’s mother) descends from titled field trial dogs on her mother’s side and her father is “Deets” out of Northstar Pointing Labs in Cottonwood, MN.

My pup’s father is “Ace” out of Coteau View Kennels in Conde,SD.

Miss Ruby is now 6 months old - we had another good hunt yesterday. It is great to spend the fall with a pup who is so eager to hunt and learn
