Fox Collectors

We often talk about honey and smoke mineral streaking relative to gunstocks and I'd Iike to share this example. New to me MX20 Perazzi 20-gauge Sporting gun with its 80cm (31-1/2") tubes. Bores: .626” (same as a 20g Super-Fox). Weight: 7-6. Made in 2012/13, lightly used and she just came from a Dealer friend. I shot her today 50 birds and all I can say is, I'm pumped! frank

Can't say I find the shape of the grip appealing, but that wood is top-of-the-mark.

That is some nice lumber for sure. They are amazing guns.

Thanks gents for your comments. As many here know I've slashed my vintage gun collection over the past two years, selling and auctioning off almost all those that were rarely used, and keeping a few good ones by my favorite makers. No I didn't jump ship on Fox but all told I've shaken off the accumulator bug and only kept those I enjoy hunting and also shooting with a handful of local SxS friends and at vintage events. That purge left me with some scratch and I recently bought a Perazzi MX8 12-gauge and this used MX20 in 20g. I've owned P guns in the past and in my mind they're the best modern sporting clays gun from several aspects. Those two will be my main shooters when with my regular gang who by and large aren't SxS guys. That's what's been happening with this guy although I have to admit I'm still tempted when I see a good honest or rare Fox or whatever for sale. frank

I have to agree with 100% of what Frank says and his philosophy on thinning the herd and keeping the few prime examples of the vintage guns that we all love to shoot. Like Frank, I love to shoot and I shoot at least a flat a week and settled on the Perazzi as my main clays gun because they are durable and point so naturally it's scary.
