McIntosh writes in his book on page 113 that most of the “pin guns” he’s aware of shipped in the 56000 range or lower. He writes of the following exceptions:
57729 shipped July 19,1911
58657 shipped September 15, 1911
60026, unknown
60507 shipped August 9, 1912
60726 shipped July 22, 1912
61412 unknown
62244 unknown
62262 shipped September 27, 1912
I’m guessing these serial numbered 57,000 and greater “pin guns” are far, far more common than McIntosh believed. Please post your over 57,000 serial numbered “pin gun” to this thread. The only two I own qualify:
57792, sold to Supplee, October 23, 1911. Presumably this was Supplee Hardware, Philadelphia, PA.
58814, shipped December 16, 1911 to E K Tryon Co, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Here is one I purchased 49 years ago and still have it.
SN 57979 letters as a 26 inch Brush Model, IC in right barrel and Mod in the left barrel (#1 - but see below), shipped October 24th, 1911 (#2 - see below) to J. M. Warren - no address given.
#1 - Actually the gun is choked Imp. Cyl in left barrel and Mod in the right barrel. Reverse of what the letter says and reverse of how side by side are normally choked.
#2 - Gun shipped on October 24th, 1911, exactly 25 years to the day before I was born - October 24, 1936. (The gun in Philadelphia, PA, me in Dansville, NY.)

The 38 guns I've recorded from 50040 to 53013 are The Sterlingworth Co. The 11 guns I've recorded in the rest of the 53xxx range are a mix of The Sterlingworth Co. and a A.H. Fox Gun Co. Sterlingworth Model 1911. The 48 guns I've recorded in the 54xxx through the 60xxx range are A.H. Fox Gun Co. Sterlingworth Model 1911. I've recorded ten more "pin guns" in the 61xxx and low 62xxx range most without the Model 1911 marking. The highest "pin gun" serial number I've recorded is 62409 that was in the 12 June 2010, Horst Auction.
The lowest serial number Sterlingworth with a smooth pin I've recorded is 61960.
Keep in mind that we have accumulated over two decades more information since Mike's book went to the printers.
