Finding a 1915 AE

Post by manchestereagles »

Since obtaining my 1915 AE 20 gauge I have been looking for the matching 12 and 16. I found an AE 12 bore at an online auction with serial number 22664. Based on my limited research it appears to be a 1915. Is that a good assumption.

Best,

It would be in the general few years before WW-I. The production card may have the shipment date on it but that doesn't necessarily mean when it was built. I have two 12-gauges in the 214xx range. One shipped in 1914, which would agree with the old Lightner Library serial number chronology. The other is 14 numbers higher and shipped in 1918. With all the special requests on that gun it was only completed when ordered.
