The nice Lynn Bogue Hunt painting of Mallards used on the cover of Savage's A.H. Fox catalog for 1931 to 34 --
was also used for a Savage Arms Corp./J. Stevens Arms Co. cardboard sign --

I pick up LBH's cover art whenever I can. Here is an October 1937 cover of Field and Stream. If you look below the forend, you can see his signature.
Aside from the art itself, the magazines can contain a wealth of information and old ads etc.. They also make great props for pictures.
It being Woodcock is a double bonus for me.
Another one from September 1933.

I use the first one as a cover on the 3-ring binders where I keep my newsletter issues...

I hope that my paper accumulation means as much to the next owner as it does to me. Dave Noreen should write a definitive article on disposing of our paper as we retire.

LB Hunt was born a few miles from my home. I have few of his oil paintings, here are two decorating my gun room.

Bill,
I have never seen that particular Fox/Svg advertising. Very nice and great colors!! Researcher, love the colors on the LBH Savage Steven’s advert as well.

Bill, I hope my collection of paper will mean something to someone else as well when the time comes. I am finding that some advertising prices have dropped somewhat. Curious to see if you and others have seen similar price declines.

There are some scarce posters, die-cuts and easel-backs in the upcoming Richmond Auction. We'll see what they bring.
Just like the guns we like, from the vintage gun catalog sales I've been watching on eBay the worn/frayed/mouse chewed/stained stuff has gone down in price while the nice crisp items remain strong.

Dave,
This is the first time I’ve ever seen the Ithaca Snow Shoe Rabbit poster, as well as the Ithaca Pheasant poster, are these that rare or am I just young?
I’m really curious as to where these prices might land. I was able to pickup the Ithaca Wild Turkey poster a few years back, and upon receiving, it had Dana Tauber’s name on the back.
As I was telling a friend the other day, this is only the third Wild Turkey poster I’ve encountered.

I don't recall ever seeing the rabbit or the pheasant posters before.
