Dan Lefever went thru three partnerships before striking off on his own. Here’s an example of a gun he built while partnered with John Nichols between the years of 1876-1878.
A 12 gauge built with 32” barrels. It’s an E grade with a minimal amount of engraving that was priced at $100.00. Still as tight as the day it left the factory.Unbelievable.

They are some unique & interesting guns,

I became owner of an 8 gauge built in this same time frame.

I would love to score 10 & 12 gauge, but I've not encountered the Nichols & Lefever guns very often.

They are 34",

this is the lightest 8 gauge I've owned and recoil is more noticeable, but the gun is quicker in the hands.

Joe, great looking gun! Thanx for sharing. D.M. Lefever’s partnerships and travels are very interesting to me!
