Not a vintage gun, but a vintage style hat!

I've wanted a Fedora style hunting hat for a long time. I've always admired old photos with hunters wearing their Fedoras. I can't picture my paternal grandfather without one. He wore one every day of his adult life.

My wife gave me this today and apologized that it did not get here for Christmas. I like it, a lot. I'll have to work on the shape of the brim a little bit, but it fits.

Very stylish. Now tuck a grouse feather under the band. 😂

Yeah, the band is going to get an upgrade eventually. Feathers are certainly in order too.

Great looking hat! My grandad wore them too. He wore grey felt Stetsons during cooler weather and lightweight "woven straw" ones in the hotter weather. Eventually the front of the brim rolled a bit downwards and the rear rolled a bit upwards. Very sporty looking like that.

Roger where would one find that type of hat? I can see that working well out west hunting Quail or Pheasants. Woodcock cover in Va no way.

That's a great looking hat! I might be tempted to trade my old Filson Packer with homemade blaze band for one of those!

Tom, my wife said she bought and returned one that was over $100 because it was junk.

This one was a very reasonable $25.99! My size was on the cusp between a large and a medium so she got me a large thinking it could shrink if it had to, but it also comes with two peel and stick foam inserts and a ribbon strap hidden in the band to also tighten it up if required. The inserts worked great, the ribbon was worthless. The hat fits me well. The description says the color is "Carroty", but it definitely passes the bar as far as qualifying for hunter orange IMO. Definitely need to work the brim down in the front and up in the back to make it more sporty looking. I hope it does not fall apart or get in the way when shooting. We shall see.

Just ordered one in Orange also. Think I will wear it while shooting Clay's. Wonder if the Fox pins will work with it.

Tom, you will be styling in high cotton with that hat!

It will be good for tower shoots and preserve birds too.
