Lever is right of center and the trigger plate screw hasn't been buggered. Things we like to see.

Looks like a 12 ga. Correct? Barrel length?

What they all said. Honest looking gun....at least from what the pics show. Please keep us posted. Frame looks a bit shallow for a 12b (could be just the pic) ...is she a 16?
On the whole....I'd rather be in Philadelphia....

It is a 12 unfortunately at least in my eyes.
Mid bead is broken.
Had a small dent on a barrel also.
It all numbers correctly and the barrels were 28"

Yeah I had to look 😃

It's kind of up in the air jolly bill.
It's being held at the store as the guy must have done something.
They did buy some of his guns.
This one they offered 400. And he refused.

They said I could make him an offer just not sure with the dent what it's value is.

The dent can be raised to the point it is unnoticeable, unless it is a sharp indentation resulting in a "crease" at the bottom. Most dents are not this way. I've removed several myself.

Gun looks good. I don't blame the owner for not wanting to take $400 for it, if everything else checks out right and original.

Everything else seems good/honest to me.
The dent isn't creased.
Bores are bright and shiny.
Recoil pad says ranger IIRC so most likely replaced ?

Trying to be helpful but you haven't given us enough details on the gun to prompt replies with fair market value. All we know is what can be seen in a few pics; also that it has 28" barrels, one small (?) barrel dent and an aftermarket recoil pad.

What is the length of pull over the pad?
How are the mechanics, do the hammers stay cocked and are the triggers crisp and not too light nor too heavy?
What do the chokes measure?
What do the chambers measure?
Is this an extractor or ejector gun? If ejector, are the kickers strong and in time?
Any cracks in the forend or buttstock wood?
Are the ribs tight and do the barrels "ring"?

Granted, you may not have the tech knowledge or tooling to answer some of these questions; but unfortunately beyond a cursory thumbs up emoji no one here can reasonably give you anything beyond a rock bottom "shooter" $ number to offer up to the owner. frank

2nd generation “A” grades are nice. I can’t quite make out the lettering on the barrel. Does it say Chromox Steel? Was it made in Philadelphia or Utica.

It does say cromox and it is a Philadelphia gun.
No cracks in the stock.
I'll get more pictures and realize I'm not good at figuring doubles out.
Just a newbie who likes them.

I did take a few more pictures Frank and I would have liked to check some of what you elaborated on.
Unfortunately it didn't work out for doing thatToday.
The store owner wasn't in.

There are actually 2 dents and I feel leary about them.
Should I be ?
Yeah I'm looking for a low end price on one as I'm afraid to get burnt.
