Sterlingworth Refinished

Bird season unfortunately has come to an end, so that last two weeks I scraped and refinished my (new to me) 16 gauge sterlingworth. It had clearly been refinished by the previous owners with several dried drips and varnish on the metal parts.

Anyways, I’m pretty happy with the results, I at least like it better than it was previously. I did 7 coats total, first three sanded and rubbed in. Then the last 4 top coats.

A couple before and after pictures included in case you were thinking what a sterlingworth would look like w/ Timberluxe finish (no stain, just oil)

Dan Rossiter and a few other stock guys I know use Timberluxe. It can be be matte finished or glossy. Easy to use for sure. Nice job.

Looks great! I used TimberLux to bring back the finish on my Trojan 16 after I hunted in the rain with it. Good stuff!

Good job. Got the right sheen on the wood of a fresh out of the box Savage-era Fox-Sterlingworth.
