Had a couple nice duck hunts with my Super Fox C-HE with XE style stock that came from Dana Taber. Hunted the south east zone of NY, our western zone is closed until Saturday.

Great pictures, Craig. What a gun!!! Looks like a nice little marsh. Has the snow affected your normal hunting marsh?

Most HE's even with CE and XE engraving do not have engraved barrel wedges.

Craig's post got me thinking about the whereabouts of the FE-Grade Super-Fox since the Julia's auction. I clicked on my link for the Julia catalog archive in my "favorites" and get "page not found." Has Morphy dumped that wonderful resource for us?

Dave, I looked on the Julia and the Morphy site and I can't find what we are looking for. Keep us informed.

Try here: https://www.jamesdjulia.com/item/lot-12 ... gun-56574/

The bores were listed as .693/.695??? And the min walls were listed as .019/.017?? I believe the bores should have read .793/.795 which would explain the thin walls??

Craig, first of all, that is a beautiful HE. The wood, checkering, and round pistol grip are stunning. 30” barrels choked mod and full makes it perfect for decoying ducks and high flyers. Lastly, what an amazing bag of mallards. You must be great at calling, and an excellent shot. Once again, thanks for posting great pictures.

Craig, in the picture of your decoy set up, it looks like you have a motorized, feeding mallard. Do you like that better than a “spinning wing” decoy?

Jeff: Yes they are the motorized feeders. I feel ducks have learned to avoid spinners, motion in the rig is the key in my opinion. Find an old troweling motor and make a base for it with the prop facing up, cycle it on and off and it will bring a rig to life. At you spot with a permanent blind I would use a 12 volt car battery with a solar cell recharger.

Thanks. Quite often on those “blue bird” days I’ve thought about those feeders. Time to start planning for next fall. Happy Thanksgiving
