I have looked at this off and on but am holding out for an A grade 20. There are also two nice looking 20s at Crosnoe guns, one with a BT. Been there a while. Both philly guns. I personally like the 26" barrels for my dove, quail, squirrel and rabbit hunting. To me they work well in brush/woods.

Just a hunting gun, cut stock, mid rib probably ruined by a bad bead installation, Savage era gun, high starting price indicating high expectations, 26" barrels, no collector value. What else would you like to know? We're not being curt, just trying to keep you from making a mistake. A good Sterly to hunt with can be bought for $400 to $600 if you keep your nose to the ground. Even a nice 16, same weight as a 20, can be bought for a buck more. A $1650 messed up 20 leaves you nowhere to go if you want to trade it off. Sorry.

Thanks for all responses. Eightbore, in my area a 20 SW in this condition---even a Utica gun, will be snapped up at $700 give or take.
Is there NO chance this gun is a Deluxe that has had the mid bead and pad replaced?

At $400 to $600, yes, I was not referring to a 20 gauge, but your anecdotal price is $1000 less than the price mentioned in the auction.

Forgive me "MC" for making an example of an auction that you are actively engaged in, but what if gun #117008608 at Gunbroker were a 26", ejector, Utica, 20ga? Same condition. The gun is documented to have a beavertail added (replacement for a broken splinter) and refinished by M. Bielin. I think possibly a buttstock upgrade, but I can not recall seeing that on the MB receipt.

All the previously discussed logic (i.e. 26", non-original, Utica) makes perfect sense to me. Yet at the same time I am talking about a very nicely done refinish with proper finishes and tasteful additions/upgrades. Not an upgraded Fox that I think would have any difficulty appealing to the masses.
