Gunner is doing great. He’s walking like it never happened. He’s not allowed to run and must be on a leash every time outside for the next 2 months. He should be fully recovered by October.

Good God, they are TOUGH!! My English Setter 'Smoke" had major abdominal surgery at age 12 to remove a disgusting mass of 'Whiffle Ball" - like material from his stomach (which he probably scarfed up in the woods while out of sight!) in April and was back in the grouse woods in fighting trim the following October, hell bent for leather on opening day. He had that one more good full season before cancer took him out the following Summer. I think about him and my Labs every time I look out over the concrete slab where I park my boat now, once their kennel homes. Kevin

Gunner goes in for an X-ray in two days. Hopefully it will show the bones knit back together and everything on schedule. With the new TPLO surgery they don’t reattach the tendon. They cut the bones and realign them.
