The only straight gripped Sterlingworth was the 1935 and later Fox-Sterlingworth Skeet & Upland Game Gun and they used the regular trigger guard straightened out.

Re: 16 ga Sterlingworth long tang trigger guard
If you are looking at converting your regular Sterly to something like a Skeet and Upland model, then a smith can straighten out the trigger guard with heat etc. If you truly want a long triggerguard then a smith can cut your guard at the end and then extend it to a long trigger guard like a graded Fox has by adding bar stock. He will I believe add another hole so there is two screws. Plan B is to purchase a long straight trigger guard from Galazan in the white (if they still have them) and fit them to your receiver. I believe that will however require the threading on the bottom of your receiver to be retapped consistent with what the Galazan in the white trigger guard has. PS. Above totally from memory so I could be wrong. My first custom which is now over 10 years old utilized a Galazan in the white trigger guard and all the work was done by Dan Rossiter.

Re: 16 ga Sterlingworth long tang trigger guard
Great discussion, and once again, I'm learning what to "notice" while handling a gun. Last week I looked at a 16 ga. Sterlingworth that had been restocked. It had a straight grip, and a long tang. Interesting!
