Hello everybody. My name is Hunter and I live in Central Iowa. I just formally signed up for the annual membership newsletter and recently purchased my first Fox Sterlingworth 12 gauge with a 30" inch barrel. I believe these are the accurate specs for the shotgun but feel free to correct me if any of this information is incorrect. I am not well versed in identifying the nuanced characteristics of the Fox so please let me know of any relevant details as I learn more about the awesome firearms.

Serial number / year: 76543 / 1916
Finish: The bluing on the barrel shows thinning and loss from use and handling. The receiver appears in the white.
Barrel Length: 30" w/ fixed full chokes
Bore Condition: Clean but dull with moderate pitting throughout.
Stock/grips: The stock and forend show light use and handling wear over all. There is a hairline crack on the right of the stock behind the receiver.
LOP: 13.75" to front trigger

The lock up is tight but the lever is sitting left of 6' O'clock. The serial numbers match on the barrels, forend and receiver.

Nice pictures. Are you planning to use your new Fox for Pheasants or waterfowl? Jim

Nice gun. Looks like someone in the past cut nicer checkering patterns on original wood. Original Sterlingworths had smaller patches of flat-topped checkering.

Welcome.

Decent first gun and thanks for posting your pictures.

Just to let you know, it's OK to have more than one. Fox, that is.

Jolly

You’ve been bitten by the Fox bug!! Congrats and welcome to the form! Might want to have that split on the stock repaired so it doesn’t get any bigger or split out all together. Have fun shooting it!!
