Snap Caps

Are snap caps neede for dry-firing a Fox? I store my other doubles with snap caps. I thought maybe it didn't make any difference because the hammer and pin are one.

It's like chicken soup and a cold: it may not help, but what harm can it do? :D

Whisperbow,
According to the information printed in the Fox catalog, snap caps are not needed. The breast of the hammer stops on contact with the frame so the firing pin is never under stress. I've never seen a broken firing pin in a Fox, although I suppose anything is possible.

I've never bothered with snap caps. Well, maybe I shouldn't say "never." I've owned them but can't keep track of them nor get in the habit of using them. There was a lot of chatter recently about some fatal shooting accidents and somebody adamantly opposed to snap caps pointed out that it's nice to open a gun that's supposed to be unloaded and clearly see that it's unloaded.
Food for thought.
