Winning Combinations

Post by Sporrns »

Attached are a few pics of my combined woodcock & grouse hunt in upper NY State last weekend. Grouse were not in abundance and we arrived at one of our favorite hunting locations to find a large logging operation in progress much to our disappointment. We jumped three woodcock in another location; no chance for a shot at the first one. The second one I tried a "Hail Mary" shot on but had no luck. The third (which may have been the same second bird flushed again) fell to the very lethal combination of my 16 ga. SKUGG and one of Morris Baker's wonderful #10 RST Woodcock loads. If you get into the woodcock, there is nothing like them in the wide open SKUGG chokes!. Kevin

P.S. - Its a 26" barrel gun; the photo depth makes it look like a 32-incher!

Nice “doodle”. Glad to see that the SKUGG did the job.

Yeah; I had to edit post since it looks so distorted - 26" choked .004 R & .011 L.

Very nice Kevin.

Good thing you did it on the weekend 'cause here in upstate NY, we're getting a lot of rain.
